Renogy Vs Jackery solar panels

When it comes to portable solar power there are two most popular brands in the market right now Renogy and Jackery. Because of their popularity for a newbie sometimes it's a little bit confusing to choose from.

In this blog, I'll compare the portable solar panels of Renogy vs Jackery.

Personally, I'm using Renogy 200W portable solar panels but jackery is also offering some good quality solar panels. They both have their pros and cons which I'll discuss later on in this article. I hope it will help you to make your decision.

In short, Renogy offers many varieties of portable solar panels with different features available from 10W-200W. On the other hand, jackery is known for its portable solar generators but they do offer some portable solar panels with only 60W and 100W.

There are some things to consider before choosing them I'm gonna discuss in detail their features, what both brands offer, and which one is best for you according to your requirement.

What do they offer?

1- Renogy

Renogy is known for its solar panels so they do offer a lot of different options which give the flexibility to the buyer to choose solar panels according to their requirement.

Renogy offers between 10W-200W power portable solar panels 10W solar panels are the smallest ones to charge your phone and the 100W and 200W are made to charge car batteries, and other electronics during camping.

Renogy also offers flexible portable solar panels which are great for RV rooftops. Due to their flexibility, they can be fixed easily on the roof of a Van.

Renogy portable solar panels also come with a built-in charge controller which means you don't have to purchase any additional charge controller.

This is helpful when you're charging your car battery directly from solar panels. The charge controller gives a constant current to the batteries to avoid any damage.

2- Jackery

On the other hand, Jackery only offers two different portable solar panels Solarsaga 60W and Solarsaga 100W in the same foldable shape. So, there are not many options to choose from.

Jackery solar panels come with USB ports to charge your cell phones or other devices through a USB cable.

Other things to consider

  • Weatherproof - Renogy portable solar panels are waterproof which makes them more reliable and easy to maintain and clean. But Jackery solar panels are not waterproof.
  • Versatile Connector - Renogy solar panels come with an MC4 connector which makes them more versatile. On the other hand, Jackery solar panels come with an 8mm port which makes them easy to connect with jackery's portable solar generators.

Portability

Portability is defined as the ability to be easily carried or moved. Renogy 100W portable solar panels weigh about 27 lbs but on the other hand jackery, Solarsaga 100W weighs about 8.5 lbs.

The reason why Renogy solar panels are heavy in weight is because of their material. Renogy solar panels come in suitcase style with shields on the corners to protect them. Renogy portable solar panels are made of rigid glass. Which makes them heavier in weight.

Jackery portable solar panels are made of thin material which makes them light in weight and much thinner than Renogy solar panels. This makes them easy to carry and can fit in small spaces. But, on the other hand, Renogy solar panels need a little bit larger space to place them in your Truck or car.

In Short, Jackery solar panels are more portable than Renogy solar panels.
